Catholic Church St. Martin (1965)

St. Martin

Following the reformation, only a protestant parish existed in Idstein. After the new foundation of a catholic parish in 1806, catholic services were held in the ancient chapel of the Palace, which soon proved to be too small. The new-gothic style Church of St. Magdalene was consecrated in 1888.

In 1963, due to the growing population of Catholics following World War II, the small church had to give way to the modern new building “Church of St Martin” by Johannes Krahn (consecrated in 1965).
