Along narrow cobbled streets in Idstein’s landmarked Old Town you may admire many splendid architectural monuments originating from five centuries. In the centre: the prestigious König-Adolf-Platz, named after the only German King of the House of Nassau, King Adolf (about 1250-1298).

Predominantly Hessian- Frankish half-timbered work – often with rich wood carvings.

	The so-called Killingerhaus with the richest wood carvings showing emblems, heads and Christian as well as pre-Christian symbols.
Schiefes Haus (crooked house) composed of four floors, with "Zwerchhäusern" (gable lucarnes) and a blue coating.
	Two-story half-timbered houses with exceptional strong balks and bracing struts.
